Why this cruise?
The CDS is no different than any other Not-for-Profit organization
in that it is supported by donations. The members have voiced
opinions on purchasing more cave sites. To do this we need
additional funds. I am sure all our members want to support
the Section, some are able with monetary donations on a
large scale but most of us are not. We can give our time
but our demographics are rather spread out. Most of us would,
if there was a way to incorporate it into our everyday life
and that’s where this falls together. NESST Travel
has offered to run a new and unique fund raiser which is
designed to give you the best of both worlds, this allows
you to share with family, friends and dive buddies and everyone
gets what they want.
Everyone wants to take vacations. Doing a cruise allows
us, in a sense, to tag onto what you’ll be doing anyway,
go on vacation. Cruising offers the best value for your
dollar for those traveling with families or friends that
aren’t all into the same type of fun. You can go diving
while your family or friends go to the beach, hiking, or
take city tours, are you getting the picture? You come together
back on the ship or after the dive for a tropical cocktail
on the beach. Everyone can have fun and be together. The
only difference to your family vacation is there will be
a group of us. That means you get to meet other members
and spend a full week talking to cave divers, after all
isn’t that what cave divers want to do when not diving?
Each person will be donating a small dollar amount of their
cruise fare to the CDS. The cruise line will also be contributing
by offering a few rooms for us to sell. One of those rooms
will be used for our raffle giving us three ways to raise
funds.
The most important factor here is we get to go on
a vacation and HAVE FUN RAISING FUNDS !
